Chazown Session 3: Clarifying Your Core Values & Spiritual Gifts

If you’re not sure what this is, go ahead and check out this blog post :)

Core Values

If you haven’t yet, turn your participant’s guide to page 12, or follow along in this section of the online Chazown Experience, and select the core values that apply to you. Don’t rush, spend a couple minutes if you need to. Then, narrow that list to 5-10.

Spiritual Gifts

Before you begin this session, take the spiritual gifts assessment at www.chazown.com/spiritualgifts, or in Appendix 2 at the back of the Participant’s Guide. Write them on Page 14 of the participant’s guide.

Awesome! Let’s begin :)

Note: I want to clarify that I, of course, have also done bad things. Through grace in Christ I am set free…which is why I LOVE grace!

What are your core values & spiritual gifts? Let’s discuss!

If you’re not sure what this is, go ahead and check out this blog post :)

Right now you’re going to want to go ahead and turn to page 7 in the small group Participant Guide (link). Alright, perfect! Let’s get started!

What are your thoughts after watching Session 2: Learning From Your Past?

The Talk-it-Over questions:

1) How could finding your Chazown change the way you live the rest of your life?

2) How might living out your Chazown impact those around you?

3) When you consider people, events, and circumstances that have most impacted your life until now, what sorts of things immediately come to mind?

4) Why do you think it is important to include both the postive and the painful items in your personal timeline?

Chazown Session 1: Finding Your Chazown

If you aren’t sure what this is, check out this blog post :)

The Chazown Experience
Session 1: Finding Your Chazown

Here are a couple quick notes to help you get started:

  • Make sure you have printed out the  “small group” Participant Guide: here
  • Pray that God opens your heart to receive His Words
  • Write a quick comment below with your name and a short introduction

Perfect! Ok, buckle your seatbelts! The ball is rolling…go ahead and watch the first video below!

Rather than making a video for my after-thoughts, for this session I have simply gone ahead and typed out some of my personal thoughts:

After watching this first video, I am reminded that I often expect to just float to where God wants me to be in life. However, this session really taught me, through Scripture, that I must seek God for what vision He wants me to have in mind as I walk through this life.

I love Proverbs 29:18: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

I, obviously, don’t want to perish. I’m super excited to look at my past experiences, core values, and spiritual gifts, to help discover what God’s vision is for me in this season of my life. Then, I’m super excited to apply that vision to 5 core areas, or “spokes”, of my life: my relationship with God, relationship with people, physical life, financial life, and work life.

On Wednesday, we’ll take a great look at Session 2: Learning from Past Experiences. If you have not yet, I again greatly encourage you to register an account with Chazown.com and follow along, and/or print out the Chazown “small group” Participant Guide.

This is pretty cool, huh?!

What are your beginning thoughts after participating in this first session?
